Fuji Friday: Leopard Skin Fuji

They say a leopard can't change its spots...in other words, one's basic nature is fixed. Beneath its (faux) leopard skin disguise one can make out the distinct outline of Fuji san. Fuji has, however, changed its shape more than once over the centuries. The mountain assumed its current profile, adding 2,189', after its last eruption in 1707. "NewFuji" almost completely covered "Old Fuji". As to Fuji's basic and volcanic nature...Fuji is still active and won't be changing its spots any time soon.
